Multi-B

Projects

Multi-B provided video communications within the Wiltshire Broadband Outreach Project which finished in March 2004. Four sites were equiped with the latest mm745 IP Videophone/Browser terminals and this allowed access to Business Links based in Swindon, who were partners in the project, as well as site to site communications both within and outside of the project.

Multi-B is keen to become involved in further exciting new projects which use video communications.

Video communications can make a significant difference to delivering services to the public. Elderly people and disadvantaged people cannot always cope with the sophistication of web browsing in order to obtain the help they need or to access support services. Please look at our paper about delivering e-government using videophone browsers .

Many people struggle and waste a lot of time trying to find basic information, especially if their mindset is perhaps different to the degree qualified person who put together the menuing system used on the web page which was supposed to help.

Sometimes its easier just to ask someone who knows where to find the information or can pass you on to the expert who can!

Grants are available from a number of sources which aim to encourage the use of new technology to deliver government and other services. If you are thinking about taking part in such a project, why not talk to us and we will see if we can help you develop your ideas.

If you are already part way through a project, why not consider adding video communications?
